For UK plumbers
The invoice app for UK plumbers
Under a sink, in a boiler cupboard, on an emergency call-out at 8pm — write the invoice there and then, and have the customer paying by card before you have washed your hands.
- Works offline in the van, the loft and the basement
- Voice note or photo in, branded PDF out
- £8.99 a month after a 14-day free trial
No card needed to start the trial.
Plumbing is call-out heavy, and call-outs are exactly the jobs that never get invoiced. A twenty minute repair is not worth an evening at a laptop, so it slides, and a fortnight later you are guessing at what you charged.
Quill makes the small jobs as quick to invoice as the big ones. Saved line items for your standard call-out and labour rates mean a repair invoice is a few taps, and a payment link on it means you are not waiting on a transfer.
What plumbers use Quill for
Call-out invoices in under a minute
Save your call-out charge, hourly rate and common parts once. A small repair becomes a handful of taps rather than a blank form.
Payment link on the invoice
Emergency work is the easiest money to collect on the spot and the hardest to chase later. Attach a Stripe link and let them pay before you drive off.
Parts logged at the merchants
Photograph the receipt in the van and it is attached to the job, so parts do not quietly come out of your margin.
Reverse charge for contract work
Sub-contracting to a builder or developer under CIS means the customer accounts for the VAT. Quill flags the invoice correctly instead of you looking up the wording.
Photos of what you found
Attach site photos to the job. A picture of the corroded valve settles a query about the bill far faster than a phone call.
Recurring service contracts
Annual boiler servicing and maintenance agreements go out on schedule automatically rather than when you happen to remember.
Jobs plumbers invoice with Quill
Quill ships with a plumber preset, so your common jobs are one tap rather than typed out every time. You can edit the list and save your own.
- Emergency call-out and first hour
- Boiler service and repair
- Bathroom installation
- Radiator replacement and balancing
- Leak detection and repair
- Power flush
- Outside tap and stopcock work
- Landlord gas safety visits
Everything in every plan
Works with no signal
Quill is a progressive web app with a full offline mode. Write an invoice in a loft, a basement or a plant room with no bars, and it queues locally and syncs the moment you get signal back.
Autosave and crash recovery
Every meaningful edit is saved locally as you type. If your phone dies or the browser reloads mid-job, Quill offers your draft back rather than losing it.
Voice and photo to invoice
Describe the job as a voice note, or photograph a handwritten job sheet, and Quill drafts the invoice from it. Correct it once and it learns the pattern.
Branded PDF invoices
Pick a template or design your own in the visual builder. Your logo, your colours, your scheme numbers and your bank details on every document.
Get paid by card
Attach a Stripe payment link so the customer can pay from the invoice on their phone, rather than waiting for a bank transfer you have to chase.
VAT and CIS handled
Set your VAT rate, flag domestic reverse charge work, and let Quill calculate CIS deductions on labour only. The figures come out right without a spreadsheet.
Estimates that become invoices
Send a branded estimate, capture the customer's signature on screen, then convert the accepted estimate into an invoice without retyping a line.
Payment matching from your bank
Connect your bank through open banking or import a CSV, and Quill matches incoming payments to open invoices so you can see who has actually paid.
Pricing
Every feature is in both plans. The only difference is how often you pay.
14-day free trial on both. No card required to start.
Questions
Can I invoice on the spot at the customer's house?
Yes. Quill works on your phone, offline if needed, and you can send the invoice by email or WhatsApp before you leave.
Does it work for both domestic and contract work?
Yes. Domestic jobs can be invoiced with VAT as normal, and CIS or domestic reverse charge can be applied on contract work for VAT-registered customers.
Can I take card payments?
Yes, through a Stripe payment link attached to the invoice. Your bank details also print on every invoice for customers who prefer a transfer.
What if I lose signal in a basement?
Nothing is lost. Quill saves continuously to the device and syncs when you have a connection again.
How much does it cost?
£8.99 a month or £89.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial and no card required.
Start invoicing from the van
Free for 14 days, no card required. £8.99 a month after that, cancel whenever you like.
